Why Donate?
Surprise Lake Society is a not-for-profit Registered Charity (#11920 6456 RR0001). We rely heavily on the contributions of others. Without the support of our community we would not be able to operate year after year. From volunteer hours to annual sums, we greatly appreciate anything and everything we receive.
In addition to seeking out partners and individual donors; we apply for corporate and Government grants, accept gifts-in-kind items as well as run a "Donation Bin" program with our Yellowhead Congregations. See below for more information on how you can get involved...

Corporate SponsorshipSurprise Lake Camp is currently seeking one or many private contributors to help off-set our 60th anniversary costs as well as some much needed maintenance. There is an opportunity to advertise your business in exchange for monetary or in-kind support.
If you or your organization are interested contact Ian Park (Society Treasurer) 780-963-2810. Special ProjectsOften Surprise Lake will have special events or large projects that need quite a bit of care and attention. We accept all hands and dollars given.
NEW OUTHOUSES!!! We have approval from the board to begin the process of researching and making a proposal to create new toilets. In our goal of being environmentally friendly they will be solar powered, rain water collecting...COMPOST TOILETS! yay! We will showcase our rough concepts at the 60th anniversary and welcome all who wish to assist in this major development. Ongoing: CAMP GARDEN We wish to have a greenhouse garden not only to grow local food, but provide our campers with an experience in gardening and plant care. If you are able to help set up or care for some of the plants or are interested in donating towards the purchase of materials, we would be ecstatic. |
Private DonationsIndividual donors come in many shapes and sizes. We are happy to accept any amount you are interested in sharing. We do provide tax receipts to any monetary gift of $20 or more. Please provide all the necessary information including mailing address, name and phone number. We are especially looking for ongoing contributors.
For easy giving, we are setting up an online donation account. This will be available shortly. Donation Bin ProgramEvery Spring we invite United Church congregations (and any other group interested) to host a Donation Collection. We provide the group with a large rubbermaid bin and a list of various items based on a particular theme (ie. first aid supplies, gardening, beach toys, etc.). When the bin is full or summer is about to begin, a Camp Representative will come by and collect the donations. This is a great way to work as a team to provide the camp with some much needed supplies. If your group would like to visit in the summer or drop off the donations personally, you can really see what a difference the donations make every year. |
